The UX Group works in a pattern which is unique in itself. Unlike, other development unit, we do not just focus on one aspect of the project but take the whole project in entity.
At UX group, we work on four broad aspects that we collectively call IDEA which stand for Innovation, Designing, Engineering and Assembling. Each of these is equally important and serves as essential pillars that support the work carried out by the team.
These work areas can also be classified as the broad stages in which our development process works.
A typical task that comes into the UX Group from the businesses first undergoes the Innovation stage where the initial architectural ideas evolve. This stage takes care of marketing & competitive analysis, user research, usability testing, heuristic reviews, content inventories & maps, information architecture, creation of wireframes, functional specs, technical requirements & personas/profiles.
The collected information, research and wireframes are then utilized in the next stage, i.e.
Designing. This is where the wireframes are solidified and enhanced with a conceptual design. Some of the essential development that is carried out in this stage include, page layout designs, photography direction, navigation and text formatting. There are certain comprehensive design steps like, creation of design specs, functional specs, content development and multimedia development that are also carried out extensively in this stage.
The third and one of the most critical stages of our project development is Engineering. This is the process where the structure is created and we begin our production processes. The essential deliverables of this development process include, code development, content implementation, graphic production, page construction, low/high prototypes and finally the unit testing processes.
Putting together all that is done so far, brings us to the Assembled product and this is the final and the most important pillar of our framework. It is in this stage that we assemble the complete prototype which is then ready for demo. Some of the needful deliverables of this stage are final documentation and complete unit testing sign off. Factors that are taken into consideration during this stage include a complete user interface testing, ADA compliance, and most importantly consistency maintenance.
